Chiropractors diagnose, care for and manage neuromusculoskeletal disorders of especially the spine and pelvis, as well as dealing with minor sports injuries.

We regularly see patients who have back and neck pain; arm and leg pain ; headaches caused by neck problems as well as sports injuries to especially knees, ankles, shoulders and elbows.

Spinal/pelvic biomechanical breakdowns, which Chiropractors call subluxations, may also interfere with the spinal nervous system and disturb function.

Subluxations may be caused by child birthing, postural changes during pregnancy, falls, Motor Vehicle accidents, adverse drug (medicinal/recreational) reactions which can cause muscular spasms / seizures which may distort joints / posture as well as injuries relating to sports trauma

Pregnant ladies and babies can have adjustments as a result of postural imbalances / birthing injuries.

Chiropractors do not prescribe medication or perform surgery.

Dr. GT graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, USA in 1972, and has been in private practice since then.

His special areas of interest include Radiology, childrens' health, sports injuries

He has served his profession at National (South Africa) and International levels:

Served two terms on the Executive of the Associa

Dr. GT graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa, USA in 1972, and has been in private practice since then.

Served two terms on the Executive of the Associated Health Service Professions Council in South Africa (appointed by the Minister of Health)

Served on the Executive of the World Federation of Chiropractic (Non-governmental Organisation affiliated with the World Health Organisation).

Was the Secretary General, Vice President and President (three terms) of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa.

Dr. GT was honoured by the Chiropractic Association of South Africa as the Chiropractor of the Year in 1988.

He was on the Task Force that established the first Chiropractic Course in Africa at Technikon Natal, Durban, South Africa.

He was granted PAST PRESIDENT EMERITUS status by the Chiropractic Association of South Africa

Dr. van der W is proficient in the following Chiropractic / soft tissue techniques:

Gonstead / Diversified / Activator / Drops / Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy

Dr. GT was the Appointed Team Doctor for Durban City FC in South Africa.

He is a prolific Author of many newspaper / magazine articles on Health and Fitness - e.g Personal Trainer for Women (UK) / Womens Fitness / Womens Running (UK) / National Occupational Safety Association (SA) and has appeared on National Television in South Africa as well as numerous Radio Interviews about Chiropractic
